Executive Leadership 

The Global Transact Executive Leadership is a team of experienced entrepreneurs and leaders from both the United States and Rwanda who have collaborated together for over ten years. Their mutual trust and respect for each other and their desire to be a positive catalyst for change is at the heart of the mission for Global Transact.

David Ormesher

CEO

David was founder and CEO of closerlook, inc., a digital marketing firm based in Chicago that serves the global pharmaceutical industry.

In addition to his business leadership, he is also active on many nonprofit boards in the areas of economic development, health, and arts and culture. He is a co-founder and president of Bigger Future in Rwanda and has traveled to Rwanda to coach business owners four times a year for ten years. He is Chairman of The Executive Committee of Lyric Opera of Chicago and serves on the board of MATTER, a Chicago-based healthcare technology incubator.

Cyusa Mucyowiraba Leandre

Managing Director

Cyusa is a Rwandan based entrepreneur with a wide range of businesses and experience in his portfolio. He is a founder of Cyuda Limited, an IT company providing solutions to offices, schools and health centers. 

In addition to his entrepreneurial business leadership, Cyusa has also served as the Country Representative of Bigger Future, Ltd., a coaching and mentoring company for Rwandan entrepreneurs in collaboration with successful North American entrepreneurs.  

David Helmer

COO

David is a serial entrepreneur with 35 years of experience in international companies and organizations. He is the Co-Founder and Owner of Helmer Scientific, an advanced manufacturing, global laboratory equipment company with distribution in 130 countries. He is Co-Founder and President of Center for Global Sports, an international sports consulting and management company and is the Co-Founder of Bigger Future, Ltd., a strategic coaching and mentoring company in Rwanda. David is also a partner in VisionTech Partners, a US-based investment group that focuses on early stage life science and technology start-ups. He presently serves on the board of Sagamore Institute and has previously served as Executive Director for multiple international humanitarian organizations. David received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Elena Helmer, LL.M

General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer

Elena Helmer is a US licensed attorney with experience in international business transactions, corporate law, compliance/due diligence, and anti-corruption. She has taught at the International Anti-Corruption Academy in Austria and at US and foreign law schools, and served in leadership positions at the American Bar Association International Law Section. Elena is a graduate of the Yale Law School.  

Sheila Bhagavan, MD

Medical Advisor

Board-certified internal medicine physician and advisor to Global Transact's healthcare division. Her 20+ years of clinical experience provides her with a deep understanding of provider, hospital and patient needs, and she advises on the sourcing and importation of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals to Africa.
